I just bought a vodacom all for you international bundle for R199 which includes 100mim and 1 Gig data valid for 7 days. Apparently the bundle is activated as soon as you cross the border and you start roaming international.

R99/1Gb or R349 for 5GB for 7 days. If the 7 days are up it automatically renews.
Just be careful with moving close to borders if you have roaming on, a while ago we overflew Lesotho and my phone connected to their network and triggered a bundle.
