Default Sign the DWNP books at the gates

    Savuti visitors beware:

The game scouts in Savuti are turning people back from Goha gate if they have not signed the out-going book at the Savuti gate.

Safari operators I have been talking to today have met some very annoyed self drives that were made to drive all the way back to Savuti to sign the book. So make sure you sign......

Why we have to sign in and out at Savuti when we sign exactly the same books at Mababe and goha.....? sigh! but best to do it anyway than risk the drive back!

Being refused to leave - a bit of a different scenario than not being allowed to enter the parks for various reasons

    Thanks for this headsup Tara

When we enter Chobe from Namibie, they let me sign one book and my daugter the other one. Not the same one and we were on our way to Kasane.

DWNP! This is apparently a new formality they are strict on this week..
It should die down - but safari operators have seen people being turned back - so to avoid the long drive, it's best to make sure you sign I guess!

I;ve been asked at Ghoha if I have signed at savuti, when replying "yes" they said no need to sign at Ghoha.
Same thing when I said I proceed to Linyanti, I di not have to sign out at Ghoha.

Savuti actually insists you sign out when leaving, but they won't know which direction I am heading.
So happened in July, no problems therefore.

Alternatively you could tell the fuel limit story, they won't make you return if you would run out of fuel in the process.

So my guess is this is only applied to overseas self drivers - why? Anybody's guess.

I'm a little confused here. When you guys talk about signing the book at Savuti Gate do you mean at the campsite?
