Seems as if only the Duratrac & the All weather are available in 255/55/19 and not the AT/SA according to the Goodyear Website.

I have seen these tyres, Good Year Wrangler AT Adventure with Kevlar in the Motor Beeld of 20 April 2017, and also still here on Nuus 24. Google found some other sites announcing the launch of these tyres more or less also on the 20th of April, but other than the US Good Year site, I can not find any other info on these tyres.

In the Beeld report they do mention the Discovery size but would be nice to find more info on dates when it will become available and price. Might just be worth the while to wait a bit till more info is available, and that 95,000km is also quite attractive.

Also checked now with my local tyre fitment centre in Bloemfontein. This Kevlar tyre not yet available in SA. Just ordered 4 x Grabber AT3 @ R2430 per tyre, Not bad at all...

Just some feedback on these new AT tyres from Goodyear, received a mail this morning from them stating that the 255/55/19 will only start to become available towards the end of the year.

Have had Goodyear Adventure all terrains on my Discovery 4 for 6 000km, and have had 2 punctures already. Only discovered the one's I got don't have the Kevlar. Pity about that. Anyone know if it is available now?

Not in SA, the ones we get only have Kevlar in the tread

I'm on my second set of Duratracs (19"). Absolutely awesome tire in all conditions. First set lasted about 90k and was replaced due to being abused a lot; it still had some thread on.

I am at this gate again after 2 and half years and 55k on the General Grabbers.

Anyone running a set of Scorpion AT+ tyres? How are they doing?

I have 3 Options in front of me, priced high to low:

Goodyear Wrangler Adventure > Pirelli Scorpion AT+ > General Grabber AT3

It seems like the ATR is/was better than the AT+.

I've had my AT+ now for about a year and 3 months...
It is a huge improvement over the old ATR's I had before IMHO.

The traction on gravel, sand and mud is in another leaque. I've just done the Grootrivierpoort and Baviaanskloof without any issues. Tyres are still in good shape!

Noise is ever so slightly higher than the ATR's but almost not worth mentioning.

My next set of tyres for the Disco4 will be Good Year Wrangler Duratrac. I had it fitted to my second spare and now need to wait to finish the General Grabbers.

Iím intrigued by these Duratracs, they look the business and are very good looking tyres but I canít help but question why their load index is so low.

For a seemingly off-road biased tyre they should at least be a 115 load index and not 111 or 112 like I have seen in my research.

An LT tyre like BFG or Cooper is 120 or 121 which means it can handle much higher loads.

I may have to email Goodyear and ask them directly when the time comes because I really like them.

    111 is good for 2400kg.

    That should be sufficient?

Thatís 2403 Pounds ....... not KG (itís 1090kg compared to the BFG at 1400kg which is 28% ďstrongerĒ)

I have the Scorpions on my 2017 Wildtrak and they're on 60,000km so far. I recently did about 5000km through Namibia and now they look like they've been sanded with really course sandpaper.... Which I suppose they kind of were up there. I'll need to replace them pretty soon as the tread is almost at the minimum.

We had one incident where I hit a rock at about 100km/h and burst one of the tyres, but that would have happened to any tyre on the market.

They're not particularly rugged looking AT tyres, but good on road noise and fuel consumption, so depends what you want.

I have had mine for about 7000km and very happy. As Cobus mentioned, no real issues. And they look the part!
