    Default Quad bike... Cross Border

Hi, anyone have any advice wrt quads and crossing the border. What paperwork should I get with the bike. Must the bike be registered with registration paperwork like a motor vehicle? or just the trailer?

Any advice will be much appreciated... I don't want to buy the bike if I can't take it cross-border.

    Thanks Stan

Most quads are not registered / on the road........so just the trailer..........

But take proof of engine no / chassis no as well as proof of payment that you bought them........or some kind of proof of ownership..........

    Hi Stan,

We took our quad to Ponta 3 weeks ago.

I had a Police clearance certificate done, as well as an affidavit stating ownership. There are no NATIS papers for quads.

At the border I had to fill out an import form stating the make/model/engine number etc. We had no hassles.

    Regards.

In June this year I rode my quad through the Kosi border and, although I had all the necessary documents with me, nobody asked for anything, not even paid the "compulsory" 3rd party.
BTW there are Natis papers for quads. New quads have to be registered on Natis by the dealers although there is no annual license fee. Bought mine nearly 3 years ago.
