And thats me, i would rather take the soft route than damage my car, its my daily driver

100% correct - and also another good example of how the minority tend to spoil things for the majority.

Why? My vehicle is expensive and i bought it as a long distance traveller. Any damage to it may (directly or indirectly) effect the value and reliability of my vehicle.

Think it boils down to common sense. If you think you may damage it, chances are that you will. Rather do over than overdo.

Um , yes and no. I don't want to go out and break my vehicle, but I would rather find out its weak points close to home on a trial, than find out how to break it somewhere outside the borders. It also gives me a chance to fix and upgrade any weak points that may appear.

That said, I have often thought I would cause damage, but my trokkie amazes me every time. In eight years, damage has been a drowned engine, and three months ago, a twisted IFS. IFS disqualifies most vehicles as proper 4x4 offroaders (ja ok, hit me). But it now has brought to a close my fight with IFS and the upgrade is now in the final planning stages.

Both times the damage has been totally accidental and at a time I never thought damage could have occurred.
