    Guy's , it's that time again !!!!

Saturday 31st August is our 5th event and third last of the year in the 2013 Championship .
Even though we have been severely tested by the weather , we have managed to increase spectator numbers and more importantly , competitor entries . We have the regulars that are in the title chase in their respective classes , and also the guy's that enter to test the waters , and the guy's that do not fit into any class and just do it for the fun .

The latter guy's still compete and score points on the day , but do not qualify for trophy's at the end of the day .
We have had some surprises , where new competitors have done extremely well , and are up there with the " regulars "
So in saying that , it is not to late in the year to come and give it a go . The obstacles are challenging , but depending on the conditions on the given day , some obstacles are toned down due to the danger factor .

C-Class- Standard is a great entry level class , with more emphasis put on technicality , than on serious ascents ,descents , cross axles and high degree cambers .

Even if you don't enter , come along with friends and family and enjoy a day of high energy and skills . We have full catering , bar and sponsored TV's for those who want to watch the rugby .

For those that want to get involved in a sponsorship capacity , by either sponsoring a obstacle or having naming rights to one of our events , please contact me on :
    [email protected]
We also make provision for vendors wanting to sell food , clothing etc

Seemed like at the last one, making an exit from the venue was tough enough - will definitely spectate again on the 31st! Hopefully it's just as muddy so we have some fun getting in and safely out again! :-)

Will still be there to watch though... Thought some of the vehicles would seriously break with the obstacles that were setup, but they mostly made it!

Water covers 3/4 of the earth, Jeep covers the rest.

I did the obstacles last weekend, had some issues getting over some of them with my wheel base length but no recovery was required! Plenty of mud, loads of fun.

First time there I got a bit peeved because there was no idication of where to go if you weren't headed for the obstacles. I kept worrying that I was going to hit a quad.

Carlo , was also there Saturday around 12.30 pm , saw Elves cautiously driving around with a buddy .
We were selecting the 10 obstacles for 31st .
Lots of water , but manageable .We will be pumping quite a few of the obstacles we will be using this weekend and then hold thumbs for little or no rain for next Saturday .

I was chatting to one of the owners , Jaco , and to preserve his Quad/Motorbike track , we are going to seriously limit spectators from driving all over the place . They seem to not care and use every conceivable bump (which are actually berms for the quad's/motorbikes ) as an obstacle to tear apart .
In summer it is not a problem , but with the amount of rain we have had recently , we have to control where the spectators drive .
Parking for spectators will be in the bike pit area's , Gig Rig at the bottom , obstacles 1 to 10 will be a half moon around the Gig Rig , spectators will not have to walk to far .
There will be no access from the top , as was last time .

I wish that some of these guy's that have this uncontrollable urge to attempt some of the obstacles that we are not using on the day , sign up and enter officially .
There is a good chance that you will have less damage on your vehicle when you leave .

David,i saw you as you were leaving. We only went there to come and say Hi,but we were to late in catching you guys. One thing that i had noticed ,that i think results in obstacles and even vehicles, being damaged is the lack of signage.,as guys were just driving all over the show.Maybe this is something that needs to be attended to?

The fact that there are no markings makes it fun as you can choose your line I.e. easy vs potential roll. Very much like Melkbos 4x4. Marking the route would make it a trail and spoil the serious fun

Maybe to a certain degree ,yet some forms of signage would be helpfull.
