    Default Mozambique insurance

Question for my FIL. Can you get the third party insurance required for Mozambique in SA (Jo'burg) or is it only available at the border. If both options are available, which is better?

    Thanks, Erin

    Imvubu,

You can either buy it from the AA or Outdoor Warehouse. You can also buy it easily at the border but I usually do it in JHB because its one less thing to do at the border..... no differance in price.

Thanks Bruce & Yimmy. Another question, ZA stickers seem to be a grey area...needed or not? Warning triangles I believe are required (x2) and someone told my FIL that an international drivers' licence makes things easier. I'm sure that's not necessary.

    Cheers, Erin

Just play it safe and 'plak' one of those magnetic ones on your car and no-one could possibly extort you for NOT having it...

The triangle (blue and yellow) is ONLY required if you're towing something...then the vehicle as well as the trailer are required to have it on.

Thanks Prado...I was referring to the red warning triangles that you would place in the road in the event of a breakdown. Luckily its for my father-in-law's Terracan...magnetic is bugger all use on Defender.

Dont worry about the red warning triangles. Just keep them somewhere where you can get them easily if required. I have never needed them. (in 17years)

Just one thing about the yellow and blue triangles....I see alot of people stick them to the back of their vehicles. This is not needed. Only on the front of the vehicle and back of the trailer.

    Have a lekka trip.
