Hi Robbie, what awning is that with the curved arms?
Looks as if it can be good in the wind and rain, is it to be recommended?

Thanks for the picture Gav. Looks like Parks have extended the wall to provide more wind protection. When we were there they only had a wall at the back of the site to block the wind. Are all the Namaqua campsites like this now? If so, may be worth another visit.

How I like it. Not more than a night or two in one place. Bare essentials, but unforgettable to do like this!!

Set up time (and pack up time) is 20 mins max.

It was Koringkokkel Baai. We actually parked on top of some flat rock. The bottom sites have some reasonably hard beach sand.

Yes. You can see the walls were extended. Not sure about the other sites. But even with the wall we had to use ammo box lids to stop the gas cooker blowing out.

    Thanks!

Namaqua is well known for its wind - usually between 36-66kmh daily.

One is very fortunate if the wind drops!

Thanks Armadillo, we had some amazing campsites but this one was definitely our favourite. Elephant & Buffalo across the river & Hippo in camp at night. For the birders - Flock of Brown Firefinch right there in the reeds by the BL.Click image for larger version.
