Took mine in today to have the excessive black smoke seen too. Unfortunately it is still there. Got two new turbo hoses. Most importantly met some awesome people again including Rushdie. Monday we will be back to my favourite place. But heck Brutus still pulls like a train

Picked up my Disco from Landyworx this afternoon. Always cool to meet new folks. Saw the Gasman/TGWInduna's spare wheel carrier---what a piece of work. That's definitely going on my wish list! Flying back on the freeway back to Pretoria I'm sure I picked up at least two speeding tickets...So stoked to get my Disco back!

I read on the forum about HGBosch's research with 2SO and Turbodiesels. Mentioned this to my brother (Disco TD5) who was at first sceptical.

However, I got a call from him today - he is about halfway through his first tank of Diesel with (mineral) 2SO and is ecstatic! His flat spot seems to be completely gone, she's revving easier, and the black smoke cloud he used to worry about from idle through to 2000/2500 r.p.m. is all but a distant memory...

Spent a great day at Landyworx. Fitted a carrier to Induna's truck.

Had some beers and boeries with a tremendous group of guys. I think at some stage we were 15 fanatics together.

2beFree that white D3 looks and sounds great. You should have it's smoking habit checked out.

Saturday also at Landyworx, becoming like a regular forum GTG. New discs on front, new pads all round , thought my front pads were bad but driver side rear was hanging on by the skin of its teeth.

New Disco took SWAMBO, myself and the Explorer to visit my grandkids. There and back without having to stop or phone TuffStuff - DAMN I love this new Disco.
Busy being washed. Gotta check consumption, think I might have a mistake but 1st indicator is 8.4L/ 100Km.

2 weeks ago now I cleaned the MAF on the Disco. She was performing like my old Anglia with the choke full on. Went thru petrol like a dose of salts.

Not so difficult to do. Took the sensor out of the tube & sprayed it with Wynne's Carb cleaner. Nearly froze my fingers off, but saw it all come up nice & shiny. Took the plastic and metal screen & dunked them in a dish with Prepsol. This removed all traces of smuttiness and went back clean & shiny. No more black smoke. no more erratic misfire. Thanks to my Hawkeye and the advice garnered from the forum. Wallet also not quite so empty this week. Do about 25km/day to work & back. Dirt road and all.

Yip, just been checked. My handwriting sucks that much.

Consumption for the trip was 14.7L/100km - still happy with that towing 1.5T

Brutus went smoking on the tar, gravel grazing and checked out some horses; perde in pajamas, kameelperde, plaas perde and horses under the bonnet. Nothing hectic, he is still on crutches. Seems like pics are not happening - urgh

Thus far only added goodies are the Disco-East lift rods. Otherwise still stock standard.

Have a couple of other goodies to bolt on but time, time, time. Grandkids came 1st this weekend - that was an EASY choice to make.

Then 1000's of ideas floating in my head but they all cost MONEY!!!

    Ok.

This was not today but yesterday, on my way to landyworx.

I Accidently modified the car door of an impatient lady with my winch.

On the Disco I just had to pop the plastic around the fog lamp back in.
