Looks like we sit with the same type of problem. After speaking to Bunchat i came to the conclusion that we had our own "Bermuda triangle" here in South Africa also known as the Vaal Triangle. If you deal with someone in that area...your money will just disappear.

    Here's the latest.

Took the injectors to the workshop that replaced the tips on my missing injectors last August. The owner John, is willing to testify that these are not the ones he worked on last.

In my presence, he tests these injectors, they're stuffed! We can see on 2 of them that they are not atomizing, it's more like a stream of diesel. One other only sprays out diesel from 2 of the 5 or 6 orifices until heavy pressure is applied. I'd most probably get holes in the pistons in time if I had continued to use these injectors as is.

I phoned rebuilder to inform him off my findings, "Eh, I'll look for other ones" is the reply I get. Surely, once I take the injector pump in for testing, I'm going to get a similar result. EISH!

    Edit:
For those of you that are interested, we noted that the spray pattern of the 280 & 300 injectors are identical, thus swapping 300 injectors with 280 injectors is very feasible. The 280 injectors can have all 4 tips replaced for roughly R2k, whereas the 300 injectors are about R1.5k each. A slight pipe modification may be necessary, as well as a set of 4 280 "crows feet", injector retainers.

That said, if you swop 300 foe 280 injectors you must change.the pump also to 280. The 300 injector is a dual stage(whatever that means) 280 diesel pipes then fit perfectly.

This sounds like such a nightmare! Something like my current issues with Suzuki...
I hope you eventually come right and I can't believe the chances these guys are taking!

Take your engine away from that clown asp. I knew it is hard to say get a lawyer and sue him for your money or cut your losses.

I have owned a few Isuzu`s and rebuild a 250 motor once. You need to do very accurate machining , measuring and stick to the manufacturers tolerances 100% or accept it failing within 10 000km. Doing it right and a Suzy engine will last forever.
Seems this punk cannot even rebuild a Briggs & Stratton must be using a shifting as a micrometer and hacksaw blades for feeler gauges.
It is not what you buy its what you build.

    Patience is wearing thin.

Phoned rebuilder on Monday morning, he was stripping the engine to send in to engineering.

It's now Thursday afternoon, just got off the phone with him, the block is still at the engineering. Eish!

I got a feeling he'd already sold my injectors & pump! He says he's going to look for mine!

I very much doubt he'll come up with it. I'm trying to get him to pay for the new tips, my diesel shop is prepared to change them for me without charging labor.

Currently, he has the pump, so I can't take it in to be checked.

These type of "mechanics" should be black listed so that no one else get's burnt.
