The course covers the identification, symptoms and treatment of bite by the Violin Spider, Sac Spider, Black Button Spider, Brown Button Spider, Six-Eyed Sand Spider, as well as scorpion stings. Case studies, hoaxes and grossly inaccurate newspaper reports are examined to unveil the truth behind the media’s portrayal of these amazing creatures.

The Course starts at 9am and ends at 1pm at the Youth Camp at Groenkloof Nature Reserve in Pretoria. Directions will be given on registration. Live spiders and scorpions will be available where possible.

Endorsed by the National Occupational Safety Association. Accredited by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (CDP No: MDB107/091/01/2013). Earn 5 General CEU's at Level 1.
