it is also a known fact that most vehicle manufacturers recommend periodic replacement of the coolant.
the antifreeze should be inert as it is supposed to be a blend of Ethylene Glycol and distilled water.
it will thus only "carry" electrolysis if the antifreeze gets contaminated.
this brings me to another point. if your radiatro effectively isolated from the bodywork?
it is supposed to sit on rubbers.

Apoc, you are quite right with the galvanic corrosion between COPPER and ALU, but the wetted parts of af a radiator is brass, not copper, the only thing that is copper on a radiator are the fins between the tubes.
Rodgejohn, you can blank off 10% of your tubes and still have the same cooling.

Copper radiator made up by Silverton on my TD5 still not leaking after 2 years. The fixing brackets on top are showing signs of cracking thou and could have been better thought out, otherwize very happy.

They also made me a copper pipe with bleeding plug and 2 thermo positions for my electric cooling fans.

So ask - these guys are not only creative but will customize your needs.

    Good luck deciding.

in the long run a copper radiator is far more reliable. IMHO.
my D1's radiator is 14 years old and still sound.
the D2 was 7 years old and leaking.
