    Oosta

Thank you for the manuals. Have already read up on the aircon that the guys can't seem to fix after the third attempt. Now I understand more and hope to ask some direct questions.

Hi, Have just collected today a 2005 2.5 Auto in PRISTINE condition, 134Ks, FSH, and all reciepts of monies spent, 2 owners, inc contact details of 1st owner in C/T. I looked on the forum to familiarise myself with any info, having just walked away from a Jeep. Would like to thank you for making these manuals available. It realy is appreciated.

    Hello Oosta,

Do you possibly have anything on the 2.5 Sorento's fuel injectors.
I want to have my injectors tested and I want to do a leak back test myself.
So I need some facts to work on, flow rates, leak back rates, etc.

If you can help, thank you.

I don't have the numbers you are looking for but the attached files may provide useful info.

Hi Sakkie I trust your wealth of knowledge on specifically the 2007 Kia Sorento 2,5 CRDI is still available. My vehicle (150000km) has been losing coolant for some while now. My regular service centre has replaced hoses, pressure tested and re-tested the cooling system for leaks which were not apparent externally. I continued using the vehicle & a while later noticed steam vapour pouring from the exhaust after a restart after running the engine to temp. & allowing to stand for +/-10 minutes. Still losing coolant & eventually he did a compression check on the head and it was found to be low on pots 2 & 4. Strip the head, skim, replace valves, head gasket & head bolts. I have now done 2500km since this was done and today in 32 degC conditions the AC unit stopped working and the radiator temperature shot up and the car nearly overheated. Took about 3 to 4 litres of water and still no clue of where it is being lost. AC started working again after being switched off for 5 mins.
Have you any insights as to where the water is escaping and is this a regular Sorento problem?

If it is not a physical leak, it can only go out the exhaust as steam while you drive.
Are you sure it was bled well and that it was not an airlock that caused it to almost overheat?
Has it used any water since your last fill up?

    Hi SorentoMB
Vehicle continues to require top ups on checking each morning. I have taken it back to the same place that did the head job 3months ago and they find water in pots 2 & 4. This is exactly the same feedback before the head was done the first time. I am now told that the engineering shop that did the skim, valve seat and pressure test last time cannot find a leak at room temperature, that maybe there is a small crack/s that only relieves pressure at running temperature. If only I could find a proper Kia mechanic. Each time I pick up a problem on this vehicle I am told a lot of nonsense by the agents/repair workshop. Nobody seems to understand these vehicles. Spent more in repairs in 3 years on this vehicle than on my old Isuzu KB23 LE 4x4 in the last 25 years. Birders at leisure

What about searching for a good 2nd hand head? They need to test it at operating temp.

I do most if not all maintenance and repairs to my vehicles but specialist information is hard to come by- generosity like this saves time and money. Thanks a million (or 2).
