Talking 2014 Ford Everest - Spy shots of "Engineering Evaluation Vehicle"

    Sooner than expected!

See the links below for some spy shots of the "Engineering Evaluation Vehicle" that Ford Australia are using to test the mechanicals of the new T6 based Ford Everest. They have stuck on the rear end of Ford Territory to disguise what the end product may actually look like - we can only hope it's better looking that this ugly duckling - but it seems the mechanicals, including a shortened wheel-base, are all sorted.

The good news is, if the engineering evaluation vehicles are already running around, it means the concept design has already been done and launch won't be far away. Apparently expect the reveal to be at Bangkok in March 2014 with sales starting in Asia/Australia in 2nd Half 2014.

If it is this year then it is a really accelerated development programme. There are rumours that the full concept mock-up has been done in the metal already.

It does beg the question of where it will be unveiled first - The Australian International Motor show in June would have been the obvious choice as this is where they did the T6 because the development happened mainly in Aus/Asia (with input from Global Ford). Unfortunately the Aus motor show is not going ahead this year due to budget issues - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austral...nal_Motor_Show

    What were they thinking?

Ranger from the front, Fortuner from the side, and fugly Ford rear at the back - those rear lights look completely out of place and just damn ugly.

Let's hope this is far from the final version.

I don't think that is the final version. Most likely they are testing chassis, suspension and what not. The proper body will further developed.

That is a Ranger front end with half of the new Territory stuck on the back. Most prob using it as a mule for sign off work on chassis and suspension components, maybe even engine?
