Sigh, another one...
Look at Mikem. I looked into the various upgrades for a while before deciding.
The problem with the Fortuner's standard suspension is that, when unladen, it tends to be a bit bouncy.
The Mikem rear coils are progressive, so when the vehicle is unladen, the suspension is a bit softer (and copes better with undulations in the road), than the standard suspension. When you load it, the resistance in the coil increases, and it firms up without dropping too much.
Lift wise, I got 35mm in front and 40mm at the back.

To complete my Fortuner 4x4 D4D suspension upgrade I had Eibach front coils fitted at Mikem this morning.
Previously fitted: Koni Heavy-Track shocks / Mikem progessive rear coils. Then a ONCA bar which dropped the nose, leading to the front coils being required.
Result: 45mm front lift (from the dropped state) - which nicely matches the previous 37mm achieved at the rear with the progressive coils.
Service was great - thanks!

Glenn, I have the old Fortuner (2006), the one whose soft suspension on corrugations caused the vehicle to choose the path less travelled -- off the road and down the cliff. From advice on this great forum I went for OMEs and complemented this with ensuring the right tyre pressure according to the terrain. It made a huge difference to the vehicle's stability. I have yet to see a negative comment about OMEs, and after 80,000 ks through some rough stuff they've been great companions.
Hi guys - thanks for this - need to "upgrade" my Fortuna's suspension as well! Any idea what it will cost me? (rough figure)
EFS has got an excellent warranty (5 years/100,000 km...me thinks) and a fair price. Often on special at Safari for +/-R12k.
Ironman has a good price. Seen a few specials for +/-R10.5k.
I quite like the idea of the progressive coil (Mikem).
