    Default Mabibi

    Hi Forumites

Can anyone provide me with info regarding Mabibi please. More specific, is the campsite still open and operational, and if so in what condition?
Also are there any security issues to be aware of.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes still operational and in good condition. No safety issues as far as the camp goes. No drinkable water you have to take with.

There used to be a tap with drinkable water at each of the camp sites. When did this change or is the water quality just poor?

Admittedly I have not been there in 15 years.

Each campsite does have a tap. But the water looks like Oros.

Was there is January ! One of the cleanest sites I have been to !! And don't let the talk about the stairs down to the beach damped your spirit !! If you can walk across the bridge at Natalia to the beach then you can do the stairs , my two year old went up and down them about 6 times a day . Get a camp guard to keep the apes away worth the R100 a day .

Depends what is hanging of the back of the bakkie . You will get to the entrance gate without to much problems but then to get to the the camp site might be a problem . I suppose depends what number site you get . The ones at the bottom should not be a problem getting in , not to sure about when you want to go home again .

    Noooooo.

    Go via hluhluwe!

Jozini is a trafic nightmare these days. Seriaas. Unless you can slip thrue at 7am in the morning.

You can easily be stuck in Jozini for an hour in trafic on 1km of road. I love traveling Jozini gravel road, but traffic these days is crazy

    Default Mabibi Day Visitors?

    Hi All

I will be staying in Sodwana next week and want to drive through to Mabibi beach for a day via the Southers Lake Sibaye route. My questions are:

    1. Is the only way to access the beach via Mabibi Camp?
    2. Do they allow day visitors through Mabibi Camp to access the beach?
    3. Is there a limit to how many people or cars are allowed as day visitors?
    4. Do I require a permit to go to Mabibi?
    5. I would also like to do something at Lake Sibaye, but it seems like there is hardly any information available as to where to go on hte lake shore or what is available to do or see at Lake Sibaye. Does anyone have some additional info regarding sites to visit at the lake?

    Hope someone can assist!

    Johan
