It SHOULD be good, all very nice pieces put into a single package.

I think it is overpriced for its lack of interior trim though. And desperately lacking in a proper locking diff.

It is R100K less than the Jap bakkies and you can't look pass that. The size is Toyota! Fuel consumption is better than a D4D 3.0, the only thing the ride is bouncy and the turbo lag below 1800rpm irritated me, other than that I can not fault the bakkie.O ja the fake wood trim inside, not my style.

I think the current Car magazine did a review on it in comparison with the others.

The question then is how much did Foton pay car magazine for advertising space
Not how good the car is

As for quality I think it will take a while to really say how good it is yet

The reviews seem to indicate quality issue that still need to be sorted

and I see services is at 5000K's is half of what I see is needed for Toyota

However I did check a couple of sites and they list the services as 5000K's

Did they actually make changes to the engine or did they just adjust the interval to be competitive in SA?

LOL I did take it for a test drive before but i was talking about a long drive. I have done 1400km and up 2 now Iím happy with the performance and the style. It is currently on 10.1 L /100KM and that is in town driving (stop go stop go) The only issue that I have is that I must take it to PTA for the services we donít have a Cherry/ Foton Dealer in Rustenburg. Sorry and the last thing the towbar is dam expensive R4000 for the parts at the agents and speedy gave me a quote to supply and install for R4700

Congrats on the new vehicle regardless. Had a good look at the Foton when I was at the Suzuki dealership 2 weeks ago, I must say it looks like great value for money.

As for the towbar price - it seems inline with other vehicles?

Hi, Wasbeer and you all. Greetings from Colombia.

I respectfully tell you that maybe your thread is not in the right place because it says on the top that is for "all 4WD vehicles lacking low range gearbox here", and the Tunland do have low range. It has 3 knobs for 2H, 4H and 4L.

There are several other threads on the Tunland in this forum, that surprised me to find here, because in other forums the administrators would move the thread to to right place.

In short, I may tell you that I bought the Tunland, it has 5 months and 3000 km and I think it's good.

Well I watched on Lat Wiel earlier this week where they took 3 standard Tunlands up Baboons Pass.

The only protection they added was under body.

They got one puncture, damaged running boards some usual Smallwood body damage. They all got up with out diff lock.

Here are some pics as requested. Full video from helicopter circling vehicles on top is also available on request.

The images of the white one is on top of Baboons in the fastest time up to that stage - 4.5Hrs. There is a 4x4 expert instructor that was shown the images and still don`t want to believe it - all that would probably convince him is if he had been there.

    Hi witbroodjie.

This performance is consistent with what I've seen on my Tunland. Which tyres did they employ?

How can one see that video? Thanks for it.
