    Default Trailblazer Speed control ??

    Hi,
Discovered something wierd about my Speed control, it doesnt slow the vehicle down

If i say set it to 60km/h and go downhill it doesn't brake the vehicle and keep it at 60km/h.
It seems to only do half the job!
    Any body else experienced it?
My previous Beemer would actually apply the brake and keep you at the set speed.

for these types of vehicles that is not of the top of the range models like bmw and merc etc it only has cruise control to keep speed constant it does apply the brakes.

my old Isuzu had the same system in, never really bothered me as the engine compression kept me in tact.

I assume the same system is used in your Chev and being automatic makes it "accelerate" a bit more down hill as the gears wont hold it like in a manual, my bakkie never accelerated more than 7km/h from where i set it at.

    Grantjay,

It is strange that the auto does not change gears up to compensate for the gained speed. I had the 2012 3.0 Captiva, I cannot say if it applied brakes to reduce/maintain speed but it definitely geared back.

WRT to TB, I have the manual and yes the brakes are not applied when the speed control loose control of the speed.

Cruise control in most vehicles just controls the engine / accelerator and can't do less than idle fuel.
