    Default Sani Pass

We going to Sani Pass and staying at the superb Old Hatchery 14/16 June Sunday return so we can spend the Public Holiday at home, or you can stay on.

Hopefully good snow will have fallen by then.

We're also doing the Sani Pass end of June. First time for me. I'm really looking forward to it...

Before I go though, can someone please tell me, how scary and/or difficult the pass is?

Most people who knows me says I'll easily manage, but a select few says it's very scary (I think maybe because of heights?)

From pics I've seen it doesn't look all that difficult, but I don't want to get myself half way up something only to start wondering if it was a fantastic idea

Go for it.......not that difficult at all.........

But yes - weather dependant as heavy snowfall can change all of that - then it is not "user-friendly"........

it's not scary on a nice day.

20 years ago it was a bit scary on a nice day.

40 years ago in a series Landy it was probably terrifying on a bit of a wet day..

been 10 years since I've been there -sadly - Would still like to do it again before they tar it...

getting it wrong and going over the edge would be nasty...

probably still scary on the wet windy icy snowy days...

take it easy and keep it in Low Range - you'll be fine!!!

it's the "hou vas my dop en kyk..." crowd that have problems...

    Thanks Alex and George!

We'll keep an eye on the weather reports, and then go for it!

One more place to tick off the bucket list (which is still about 120 pages long... but oh well )

Just remember the pass itself, from border post to border post, is only about 12kms long. You can easily do this in an hour if you stop and take photos every km.

Hoeveel voertuie was julle?

Follow briansanipass on twitter he up dates on the condition of the pass as he owns the pub at the top. At the moment the pass is closed for certain hours of the day as they are blasting on the pass to try fix sections.
