I am currently in the process of doing mine. Learners done and dusted long ago and now must do the driving test.
Parallel parking is not the most difficult part for me. After a few practice sessions it became quite easy esp with reverse camera. BUT the 3 point turn at our facility is not doable in a Hilux double cab. Our area is boxed in with side curbs and you have to stay inside the area. It was impossible with the Hilux.
I am currently using my wife's Rav to do the practicing for the test. Strangely I find it hard to park with it. Very sharp turn circle
I have until March 31 to complete the test![]()
I passed the learners. The various apps were indeed helpful. Any recommendations for a driving school in the North of Pretoria?

So finally did my EB license
Was more nervous than my B license all those years ago when I was 18.
Luckily I passed. Still think its a unnecessary license.
I am just happy I am now fully insured was always a bit nervy driving the insurance might not pay out.
Strength to all of you who still needs to go.

Nope learned nothing other than reverse parking with a caravan. Which I probably will never use.
I have been driving without license for a few years now. Have learned a lot from watching youtube videos and reading on this forum.
But EB license process is a complete waste.
Well I'd argue that the B license is not of much value either. I suppose you learn how to get a car moving and how to park, but no one drives 45km/h (and it could be as dangerous as doing 75 when everyone is doing 60). And situational awareness is a mindset, not a bunch of checks. It's not much use checking your blind spot or rear view mirror if someone is about to slip a red light and T bone you.

I agree.
K53 learns you the theory. I got my Code 14 recently and I am now quilified to drive a 18 wheeler with a 30 ton payload down a mountain pass of which I have no idea how to manage.
Scary is it not, but this is the licence holders we share the road with.

I believe that a B code do offer the most of all the test.
I mean most people doing the B license cannot drive at all. So you learn to pull away on a up hill, reverse park, change lanes ect minor stuff but its necessary.
Yes I know all the extra BS is over the top.
But the other codes tests are way inferior to the B license.
Just got my EB. Took just under 2 weeks from when I got my learners. 5 lessons with Alpha Driving school (Henri) in CT and I was sorted. Milnerton had a lot of availability for test bookings. Glad to have it done and dusted!

Got my EB this morning, 2 weeks to get a spot. Besides waiting 2 hours for loadshedding to issue the license, and a guy popping his buddy with a 9mm in the parking lot and then waiting 2 more hours to pay, it was a breeze!
Question for the guys that did their EB, would a EC1 not be easier and allow for more towing options or is it overkill?
