    That's a bit heavy...

Call Korean Overseas Parts, they here in Durban but at least they might be able to indicate what sort of price you should be looking at. e.g. needed v-belt tensioner, Hyundai agents R 1500, Korean Overseas Parts, R 400. 031 201 7520.

Just have your VIN number ready, they look the parts up based on that so you always get the right part.

    Thumbs up T Can mirror

    Hi there Can can man

The mirror is probably wobbly because the catch on the rear of the mirror is broken. The catch is held on with a cir clip type spring and is made of pewter. It can break easily due to a hard knock, and Hyundai do not sell the part seperately hence the R12000 replacement cost.

Go to a scrapyard and find a mirror from a Getz, Tucson etc, they all have the same pewter catch, and it screws off the rear of the mirror.

Remove the plastic cover around the top of the mirror, disconnect the electrical connection and pull the mirror down towards the dash. It is quite hard, and you can risk damage to the catch if its not completely broken. Look at it from the outside to see better how it works. You will probably see the broken piece and its a quick replacement.

If your not comfortable, go to any windscreen replacement centre for help.

I speak from experience, and have done exactly what I am advising.

Good luck, and shout if you need help.

    Regards
    Bernard

PS: Take a pic of the broken piece if necessary. I can help source a replacement part in Cape Town, probably R200 or so.

    Default T Can Mirror

    Hi Bernard,

Thank you very much for the advice. I will most certainly try my luck with your suggestion first before I dip into my savings.

Will give you a shout if I find myself useless in doing the "operation".

    Have a great day.

    Hi Termite,

I'm gonne try the second hand route and then will try your proposal. That camera might do wonders for my driving skills.
