Default Australia - Canning Stock Route

    HitchHiker Chick to Canning Walker

Should anyone consider testing themselves and their driving skills on the iconic Canning Stock Route in Western Australia, this may be of interest:

It is remote and takes a minimum of two weeks to complete by 4x4. I have hitched it twice. Only person to do so.

This 4x4 route is popular with Australians, but has only been walked 3 times, the first in 1976

The first solo walk without a support vehicle starts later this month. Utilising supplies of water and food dug into the ground 21 km apart in the two weeks prior to walking, I will be walking 88 half marathons in three months.

I have a driver friend with a 47Series Toyota Landcruiser helping me lay the supply route. Then I walk back across the desert alone. Will take 3-4 months.

There is a satellite tracking system on this website for those interested.

Yes. I will do it in a 4x4, but I won't be interested on foot.

Maybe put it on my bucket list.
