SAXJ and myself decided to go and have a go at Zone off-roads RTI day on Saturday.
the Jimny and SJ didn't do to badly with an RTI of 765 and 753 respectively on the 20 degree ramp.

It's often a good idea to drill though that bolt housing. That allows you to put a 1-2mm thicker bolt in, and also have a washer and nut on the front side, so that it's more secure than the existing blind threaded socket.

For those with Frontrunner roofracks. I got these samples and I used 12m of the one on the right. It seals the open unused slots from dirt and water. Frontrunner was R109 for a 1.5m piece. I got it for R32 a meter in Port Elizabeth.

Yes, I did that on the one that snapped on mine. The spare for the other side is still in my tool box

That's the other benefit to drilling through and installing an aftermarket nut & bolt, is that if it does snap it's easily removable so a spare can be easily installed. If the blind bolt in the stock setup snaps, it sometimes leaves just what's in the 'socket' which can be tough to remove and you end up having to drill through it anyway.

I like to travel with a toolkit for field repairs, but prefer to leave my tap set in the workshop. Much easier to just carry a few spare nuts and bolts. But each to their own.

Got some new rubber yesterday! Finally got rid of the Bridgestone Dueller HT's 205/70 R15, and replaced it with Good Year Wrangler Adventurers 205/75 R15.

Went on my first off-road mission this weekend into the Inanda Valley. Jimny tasted it’s first dirt 😁💪

I'll just drive it for a week around town to ensure all is fine with the fitment, then I will test it on some easy axle twisters at The Meadows 4X4. Thereafter will I start using it normally where necessary.

I do not want to break my "Christmas toy" on the same day I got it

    Pics, most definitely.

Honestly, used mine twice in the last 3 years, more because it was there than was necessary.
