Hi Dylan, I agree, rather safe than sorry. Hope the little one stays good. The rest of you lot, yes, those poles were tight, but as you saw, with enough determination, and knowledge about your vehicles width and turning circle...and a bit of rules interpretation, most deffinately not impossible. Navis MUST know the vehicle too....not to mention knowing exactly how to direct. We'll have practice again before June. Don't worry too much about van Zyl's. Chances of that being allowed in the competition is slim. Thanks to everybody for the great spirit in which the day was enjoyed. Always makes it easier. Thanks for a great day.

Thanks to Nico and David for the help with the propshaft. That poor truck standing for just about two years didn't do her any favours. I've already replaced all wheel bearings and the rear prop centre bearing, and now the u-joints are also going. I'll just have to keep on replacing until she is settled again.

With regards to discussions around rules interpretations and obstacle approuch, I'd rather not discuss it here. Remember this is an open forum, and you don't really want to teach the "opposition" too.

I think yesterday already everybody could see who the guys (and girls of course) are with more experience. If Dirk can come up with a closed discussion group where only competitors have access, then we can talk more detail.

In the next practice, we'll start scoring more formally, like what you will be facing in the competition.

    In Secunda, or Worcester Etienne?

You are a memeber here, so you are already part of the "club". All you now need to do is talk to the guys in your area and find out where/when they go play.

I'm with at Garden city clinic now, he and I are spending the night for observation, but from how he was running around in the hospital gardens this afternoon I'm sure he's fine, although rather safe than sorry.

Franz again apologies for leaving my co driver next to the track, although hope you enjoyed the day out and hope yu learn some tricks you're gonna have share with me.

Yip!! The Jeep is a belly scraper...and I have been contemplating a lift, but it all boils down to money!! So it is on the list, but not at the top at present. Will make a huge difference if I have 2 inches or so more and slightly bigger rubber.
