Buyers Advice Needed! 3.0 D-4D related...

Hi,

I am considering buying the following vehicle:

2005 Toyo Hilux 3.0 D-4D 4x4 D/C Raider
- Canopy (Carryboy)
- Nudge Bar
- Tow Bar
- Anti Smash 'n Grab Tint
- Rubberising
- Parrot Bluetooth Car Kit
- Sony indash DVD with GPS
- PDC (front and Rear)
- Canvas Seat Covers (the SO dont like 'em tho )
- Mats
- Stick on H/L protectors

She has 88 000km (should I be concerned about this high mileage? she is a Toyota afterall ) on the clock and the clutch has been recently replaced.

Selling for R 240K from a McCarthy Toyo Dealer.

My only major concern is the clutch being replaced so early. I have driven the vehicle and she moves well (note that this is the first time driving this model). I notice that the clutch is still pretty low..so I have requested to test drive another D-4D to compare.

Please may I have your opinions? Good buy? not? what to check out? etc..etc..

For about R40k more, you can buy them brand new, then it will also come with a full warrenty and service plan.

.......but, depending how persuisive you are, dealers are offering upto 7% discount........ which makes them very attractive at the moment. Also, there are no more 8 months waiting list. The 3.0 D4D 4x4 is readily available.....

Ah, I see. Seems like a good deal - yeah, as you suggest Wade, try and negotiate with the dealer and get a brand new one.

Wish I could afford to do it but don't have space in the budget for a car payment right now.

Couldn't agree more with buying a new one. Don't forget to look at the 2.5 D4D. Better value for money.

Oranje Toyota in Klerksdorp is offering the 2.5 D4D for R254 448, normal price, R273 000 I think. The new models have some changes. The SRX models comes standard with ABS, Airbags, central locking & electric windows.

I think though that this special is only on the pre-upgraded models, which do not have the above as standard fitment.

Look around and you'll find a new one at for a good price

I've tried my luck with the new ones.. can only get 4% off.. so its still way out of my budget!

and when I start to add on the canopy (which I really need)..then things look a bit worse!

For what its worth.. I have signed an OTP...hopefully I will soon have a 4x4..and we can meetup so that you guys and gals can show me the ropes ;-)
