    Default Accommodation in Upington

    Hi All,

We are looking are doing a Kgalagadi trip next year and are looking for accommodation in Upington or closer to the Kgalagadi. Any suggestions on places to stay, which have lockup facilities?

    Thanks

Send Knersus (member of this forum) a PM, he might be able to help you, as he lives in Upington.

You can also try Gerbers Guest house. R300 for a room with bathroom. Garage for your 4x4. Nice B&B right on the river and you can go on Sakkie se Arkie the evening for a river cruise. Very lekker!

You can try Molopo Lodge just outside Askham on route to the park.

Molopo lodge's domain has been suspended.

I seem to recall a guesthouse / farm on the road between Upington and Twee Rivieren. Can anyone help?

Johan, not sure from where you are (assume JHB or KZN) but seeing that you will be travelling quite a distance, why not at the same time visit Augrabies Falls. You can stay at Augrbies or just before that on the Oranje river at a place called Kamkirri.

From there you can travel a dirt road to Twee Rivieren instead of returning to Upington. Augrabies Falls are about 120 km from Upington.

Due to time-constraints, we'll be leaving Cape-twon very early on the morning of the 24th. Our first night is the 25th in Nossob, so I want to get as much driving done on the 24th as possible so the closer to the entrance of the park the better.

4 nights at Nossob and 2 nights at Mata-Mata

The plan is to leave the park at Mata-Mata and come back through Namibia, haven't decided where (or if) we're going to stay over on the way back.

I'd say swop the dates around personnally - we spent 3 nights at Nossob and 3 @ Mata Mata and saw all the fav animals at Mata Mata...

3 lions seen at Nossob in four days(on the last day) and 15 lions at Mata Mata - seen different ones everyday..

BUT... ITs just luck that you get to see the animals I guess...

Don't forget De Drift outside Upington - excellent!!!
