    Thumbs up KZN gathering

Why don't us Natal forumites organise a gathering one weekend. Two places spring to mind. Killarny and High stakes. I know Deon isn't cheap, but he has good camping facilities if anybody needs it. High stakes also has camping facilities but I don't know too much about their options.
I know that at this stage I am free for the weekends of Nov 24/25 and December 8/9. If we get a reasonable response maybe a poll is in order. Lets hear your views.

    Hi Bob,

Sakkie is currently in Gauteng, and not close to a pc, but expect an answer from him by week end.

No problem Wayne, we can hitch your Zuk to the Rangy.

I looked at the membership list. There are lots of Durban and PMB. members. Most active. WHERE ARE YOU ?

We seem to be settling on the 25 th. Where ? We could even go to Stony brook at Kokstad, lovely trail. But it's a weekend not a day, which might defeat the object.

    Nice idea Bob

Does Highstakes have camping? I asked Craig (McGee - owner) this a while ago and he said that he didn't. Might have changed. The Kokstad option sounds nice, but I won't be able to get away there for a weekend before Xmas. Too busy kitting out the new Cruiser for a trip between Xmas and New Year in Lesotho.

We have camped at High stakes this year,(LROC KZN) not official camp sites down by the play area. We would need to run up the hill for ablutions.

I have't been asleep, just hectic. I have taken the liberty of chatting with Deon At Killarney 4 X 4. He has a Christmas party on on Saturday 24 th, which means restricted use of the pool and no lapa. No problem ! The 25 th is trials AGM in the lapa,(surprise as I an also a member of the club, words will be had.) But as we are a small group, we will be accomadated.
The charges are as follows: Vehicle entry R100.00. You can stay 2 Days. Camping is R 20.00 p.p.p.n.

And for those that don't know.

DIRECTIONS: Take the Shongweni turn off from the freeway and at the top of the off ramp go left towards Shongweni. Approximately 7KM down the road you will see a sign for Killarney 4x4 Track. Turn right here and then follow the signs along the dirt road. The track is not always accessible by 2 wheel drive vehicles especially if it is wet.

    Default Lets talk

Maybe we can reschedule, input from all would be appreciated, my easiest weekend would be 8/9 December. with the Land Rover/Toyota challenge on the 18 th November. I would also be conveniently on leave. .

Sakkie BTW the minibus fare to Nongoma is about R 60.00.
