We were at Perdekloof for 3 days last month, road up Gannaga Pass is shocking but the main access roads from the south were in great shape up to about 10kms from reception, best we have ever had.

We left Tankwa 3 days ago. Were there from 17 to 18 September. We entered through the Gannaga pass. Road is very good. You can drive it with a platkar.
All the roads that we drove were good but in some places corrugations are bad. Because of the corrugations we deflated the tyres to 1.6bar. Some people say that hard tyres are better but I couldn't see the benefits of that. Hard tyres on those corrugated roads will shake you to pieces.
We saw the shards that causes the damage to tyres but never had them in the roads.
The 4x4 track up Perdeberg is easy enough and rewards you with stunning views when on top.

Shucks. Makes me want to go again.

    Haven't been there since 2016.

We have just returned from a 7 day camping trip to the Tankwa Karoo NP and central Cederberg area. In Tankwa we camped at Perdekloof and spent our days walking and marveling at the variety of flowers. Also took a trip up the Gannaga Pass. The view from the lodge is spectacular.
In the Cederberg we stayed at Kromrivier. A good place to base yourself for some easy hikes, but not if you really want to experience the beauty and solitude of the Cederberg - I doubt we will go back to this camp.
