It was nice until my power steering packed up AGAIN

Dunes were insane though , those slipfaces were worst Ive seen them so far , hopefully people going tomorrow and Sun will take it easy especially between 11:00am and 14:00

On my way out I made a slight detour and went down a "little" camber , on purpose of course but without power steering those 37"s deflated to 0.4bar took me straight down into a bush , no ways reversing back up that angle , luckily I had some buddies close by that pulled my nose around so I could get out

I think you need a beefier power steering pump

And some patience , getting really frustrated.Back Monday morning at the people that did the refurbishment of the power steering box and installation of the new pump , they are talking of looking at a small truck power steering , only problem is making it fit

I think that's what you'll have to end up doing. How about a JK Wrangler one? They are pretty good & can handle big tyres

Went to the dunes a little while back and found my spot cover in 5min ,exactly were I thought it was , in that bush. I went with the FJ and loaded my kids with Grandfather , took a quick drive while I was there , what a nice drive we had. Aircon blowing in the face ,engine so quiet I could actually talk to the family and enough space for 5 x people , all that Im not used to , told Luzinda when I got back it took so long to find the cover , ha,ha. There were only a little breeze , not blowing like here in Parklands so perfect weather.

Nice one Frans! With the petrol you drove out you could have bought a new one at Safari centre, but where is the fun in that :-)

Those yellow KC soft covers a not available anymore as far as I know , and I need to replace 4 if I go to another type/color. But you're right , the drive was fun

    Hi Guys,

Just moved down here to CPT and have been following some of the AD threads.
Quick question, would a LR 2.5tdi D90 cope with going to the dunes, most of the pics I see are of big V8's etc.
