    Good Day Fellow Conquerors!

    I had a mod done to my Conqueror Comforts L-Shaped awning, and it worked out quite well. It is a Reflective Canvas Sheet with XKK Zips and Velcro strips on Main Tent and awning. It is basically a U-Shaped awning, on same template based on the (Dreaded) L-Shaped pvc awning;

    I have tested this in a windy and stromy contitions and it works rather well, and have been using this for about 8 months. Easy setup, light and practical, and at a fair good price.

    Features:

    • The awing on the kitched side can be rolled up and folds away with the main tent
    • The front and rear awnings ones can be added for extendet stays or removed completely;
    • The front and rear awnings zip to the kitchen (main) awning with a velcro strap;
    • All the awnings have velcro strip to attach my existing side panels;

    Rather modular, easy to use and lightweight.

    The material is also much cooler than a reflective sheet and big 7x7 awning combination.

    With our family that has grown the last two years,our old setup of a dome tent and rooftop tent alone didn't work anymore thus we have acquired a conqueror compact.Click image for larger version.

    Done a few mods to my Comfort Platinum.

    Latest was to make a second fridge slide. We often go away for longer trips and used to keep the second fridge SM52 in the back of the car. But this was a pain and just irritated me (a lot). So I built a new slide.
    Two runners from 4x4 Direct: R165
    Some metalwork, bends and a tray from a local engineering place: R300
    A tin of paint and some thinners: R145
    Total cost: R610

    Just fitted a Muller Vent to the R/H side door to extract the hot air, now just to build an air inlet with a filter - like a ram air

    Bought a Conquest at a good price from Conqueror and fitted a gas geyser which works well. Took it on its first trip to Mozambique and i really like it. I used the L shape but next trip want to use the pumpkin tent so test that. On the way there friend driving behind me pulled me over and we saw this. This is the tires on the trailer as i bought it, i should have maybe checked the date on it. But this looks like a retread?

    Those are the old tyres Conqueror used to use on the trailers, I would guess they are 12 - 15 years old. If I recall they are Nankangs

    I do not think they are retreads, I just think that they are too old and waaaay past their expiry date. You will see they are also rated in inches. You can get a nice 245 A/T tyre, even the cheaper Chinese imports will work perfectly for a trailer. those Power Rovers & Radar tyres will work perfectly.

    We took ours to the bush this weekend and what a pleasure! Just one question we have the geyser installed and it doesn't seem to work well, it only lights after the 5 or 6th try, I played with the settings but still not firing on the first try. Is this normal or should I get the guys at Conqueror to look at it since it in new?

    Start geyser with both settings on 12:00 position. Then adjust to your needs. Also make sure you have enough water in the tanks to allow for adequate pressure to ignite Good luck!

    IIRC, there is an issue with some models where the A-frame had an issue and it could break, just do a google for that to make sure it wont affect you

    Thanks will give it a go, although I tried pretty much everything. Eventually the solution was switching the hot water tap on a few times until it worked. It looks like a different unit to the one explained in their YouTube video. Only one dial on the front, water valve is under the unit.

    Is your water pressure good?
    Possibly a pipe with a tight bend or kink in it, this could slow the water flow rate down, the kink could be anywhere from the pump to the geyser or even past the geyser to the tap.

    I have the Atlas 5.5 litre "camping" unit and it works like a dream. The first time we used it one of the hot pipes after the geyser got too soft and kinked, I had to mod it with an elbow joiner to stop the pipe bending when it was hot and soft.
