    Beide daai houtkappers is mooi! Arme rooikop houtkappers by my kry redelik swaar met die kuifkop wat redelik agressief teenoor hulle is. Sien ook net die papegaaie by my oorvlieg, maar hulle kom sit nie sommer in my tuin nie. Seker maar as gevolg van die huidige inwoners in my tuin. Kwvols by my is ook baie uitgesproke teenoor ons permanente inwoners en kan net nie ophou raas daaroor nie!

    Terloops, jy moet jou hek se skarniere bietjie verf!

    Yip! Sien die rooikop baie min. Nou het ek twee verskillende voer plekke gemaak. Die Kuifkop verkies die ander een en solank daar vrugte is los hulle die rooikop uit by die groot boom.

    Default Our Ducks

    Not sure if this counts - but these ARE in our garden - we have 2 pairs of ducks;

    the first is Carolina Wood Ducks - the hen has just recently started laying eggs and will be spending the next 4-5 weeks incubating.

    The other pair is the Eastern equivalent - Mandarin Ducks - this pair the hen has been sitting on eggs for at least 4 weeks now and we are expecting to see ducklings any day now. This is only the male (drake);

    My apology for poor photo quality - very much an ameture - and it was late afternoon (early evening) just after a hail storm - (you can see the ice in the ground pic 1)

    The pens are open so we do attract a huge amount of doves and other birds when we feed them.
