got the goodies, fitting the engine onto the Td5 hydraulic engine mountings
engine mounts move back approx 50mm and the the transfer case mounts approx 250
    things are coming together.
had to chop the bottom corner of the footwell (tunnel side off a big to make space for the manifolds
will probably be using a Cressida shifter and BMW 740i radiator
for cooling i am going the viscous route. found a viscous which fits perfectly on the front pulley. they threw this in for free when i bought the engine
not to keen on the hydraulic fan
wiring initially will be stock Lexus ECU and harness
we managed to figure out the wiring and the engine starts and revs nicely with the standard ECU

can finalise the CAD drawings as the adaptor works a treat

    What 3,5 V8 shortage....I have 5 - 3 in use and 2 for spares...

Also have 2 Lexus' one in my 110 and the other is going into a 109 caboose for a customer

I took the "other' route with the transfer case in the 110..fitted a P38 front diff and a R700 auto-box (big mistake) with a NP243C electric transfer - gonna be tossing the R700 and fitting a 4L60E in the near future..
I would be interested in a Lexus 5 speed auto box if your adaptor can be modified to take the NP243C

Price for box and cad's of the adaptor

Nb - use the original Lexus shifter if you are using the stock ECU and harness

Hey Gary, any reason why you don't use the stock R380 box?

because the Lexus comes with, and works well with an auto and most manual conversion kits tend to be a bit weak and badly engineered

Would like to hear Gary's view but highly doubt it's due to the strength or the engineering involved.

P38 front axles, 4L60 adapted transfers etc... That is a big job.

Manual box would simply need a LR V8 clutch with a adapter kit comprising of flywheel and adapter. Same propshafts, transfer etc.

But the R380 is crap. LT85 is a better idea.

Cool. If you say so. You don't even know that the Ozzie's are running 500Nm through the Santana boxes.

What else makes the R380 so crap? And the LT85 better?

Exactly. 380 NM on the R380: a decent V8 will shred that box.

R380 can only reliably handle 380nm sustained. Think about that.

Yes I think so. I mean it handles 550nm - that is really pathetic! 😂
