Uitstekende band all round.

    Amarok
    Model: TDi400 120KW
    Trend-/Highline: Highline
    S/C or D/C: D/C
    4Motion: Selectable 4Motion
Std or H/Duty rear: STD (Comfort Suspension)

    Tyres OME
    Type: Pirelli Scorpio
    Make: Pirelli
    Size: 245/65/17

    Problems/Issues:
No problems or issues. They were really great, lasted 110 000 km and had fewer punctures in the bush than I expected. They took some very bad pot hole knocks without much damage and were very quiet on the road. The only reasons I did not use them again is because I wanted to try a more off road oriented tyre to see the difference. I decided on the BF's. Goodyear Wrangler was option 2 on the list.

The Rok is on 125 000 km, the BF's on 15 000 km. They still look new.

Problems/Issues: I'm not going to lie, the BF's make the super quiet Amarok (as it was running on Pirelli's) much less quiet. It seems to be getting a little better with time, or perhaps I'm getting more used to it. I DO miss the Pirellis for that reason. Also, according to my calcs and adjusting for different speed and distance readings, I gave up roughly 0.5 l/100 km in fuel consumption. All this is probably worth while, as the truck now really looks like a truck and many people comment on it. So far no sekelbos punctures. I think they are a little better in sand than the more road orientated Pirellis and I do expect them to be better in mud. Happy so far.

I fitted my S/C amarok with Cooper Discoverer ATR 245/75/R17 and they are great. Gained about 50mm ride height.

Nice all rounder tyres, perfect for daily use! Done 38K on them now. Gained 13mm ground clearance when fully inflated.
Bakkie have been traded in. Done about 75k over 32months on the tyres, and they really performed well. I think they look quite well for the abuse they took, between somewhat off-roading and driving it like I stole it. Did get two punctures on them on 70k due to nails. About +- 4mm tread left of about 10mm (if I measured correctly). Now went for the Cooper At3 on the new bakkie as it seems they are a bit more off road friendly.

Already done about 5000km with them, Tar, Soft sand and Gravel - so far so good. Look good and I like the tread (much better than the std tyre it originally came with). Very quiet on the tar and no performance or fuel usage change. I tried the bigger BFG 265/65, but it looked as though it would 'rub' against inner wishbone so decided against it, no real regrets yet. GPS and speedo a bit off, speedo about 5-10km/hr slower than GPS.
Looks great, thanks, now I know what to get.
Die reŽn is 'n dag nader as gister.

I put on Cooper AT3, mainly due to the info from this forum, which i could not fault, as i have run BFG for a long time with no issues (1 puncture in 300k) except wet roads holding is not the best. And i have been happy so far with the Cooper's......on road. On gravel, plantation and farm roads, i have now had 2 punctures in 25k, one of them was bad enough to need vulcanising. So now i am a bit concerned, the damaged tyre is only good enough for a spare.

Problems/Issues: Not so great on wet raods and the 205 profile is a little small so will go to 235/70/16 minimum at some stage. Seemed to work OK on the muddy farm roads but have not done any serious offroading as yet so yet to test properly

Die OD op die 265/70 is 802.8 mm actual sidewall height is 185.5 mm
Die OD op 265/75 is 829.3 mm actual sidewall height is 198.75 mm
