    Cool

    Amarok
    Model: TDi400 120KW
    Trend-/Highline: Highline
    S/C or D/C: D/C
    4Motion: Selectable 4Motion
Std or H/Duty rear: STD (Comfort Suspension)

    Tyres OME
    Type: Dueler H/P Sport
    Make: Bridgestone
    Size: 255/55/18

    Tyres Now
    Type: LTX M/S2
    Make: Michelin
    Size: 265/65/18

    Rims
    Type: Durban
    Make: VW OME
    Diameter: 7.5J
    Width: 18

    Problems/Issues:

The Bridgestone Duelers were great but a bit too biased towards tar. No problems encountered on dirt roads or sand. Gave me 55 000 happy kilos. Very good on dry and wet tar. No punctures.

The Michelin's is however in a class of its own. Ground clearance is up to 230mm again and nothing is touching or rubbing. The wheel arch fill is perfect. With OME tyres the speedo was over reading...100km/h but only doing around 94km/h with the GPS. The calibration is now almost perfect. Rev counter is lower so saving on fuel too as the tyres are much bigger.

These are LT construction but so quite I can hardly believe it. The only noise now is wind noise from my roof racks. Even better in the sand...had a quick go at my favourite track and just had to select rear diff lock and on we went...at 2.5 bar pressure...with the Bridgestone's...I would have had to let the air out and then re-inflate and...it's almost too easy now. I will have to find a more difficult track. 8)

    Default Tyres on VW Amarok

I have a 2011 Amarok 2.0 Bitdi 4x4. Bought it with 255/60/18 Continental Crosscontact on
and the ride was smooth. I've just put on 255/60/18 Pirelli Scorpions A/T and now the ride is very bumpy. I'm even running the tyres at 1.8 bar but it still is very bumpy even on tar. Is there anything I can do to make the ride smoother?

Same problem with Cooper ATR's. Another problem with the Coopers are sand - no traction, even at 0.6 Bar. I you try to turn in, the nose just keep sliding.
Excellent on gravel, rocks and mud.

Just fitted the General Grabber AT in a 265/70 16. Havent done any riding yet but they look better than the 245/70. Will post pics later.

So far no complaints, no rubbing etc. Will check and comment once I have done a obstacle or 2

Default Experience with Hankook 19' tyres

    Amarok
    Model: 2011
    Trend-/Highline: Highline
    S/C or D/C: D/C
    4Motion: Yes
    Std or H/Duty rear: H/Duty

    Tyres
    Typeynapro ATM
    Make:Hankook
    Size:255/55/19

    Rims
    Type: Alastaro
    Make:VW
    Diameter:19'
    Width:255

Problems/ Issues: None. I recently replaced the original Conti SportContact tyres after 68,000km with the Hankook's. After 4,000km these tyres really impress me. Little road noise and good grip, particularly in sand. Interestingly on open road driving I am getting 70-100km more per tank without change in driving style. Standard pressure 2 bar, loaded, up to 3 bar.

I took out the tyre insurenace at TWT and already claimed 2 tyres after hitting a kerb at speed when avoiding a pedestrian. Well worth th extera money.

In my view no other compareable tyre in 19'
