    Angry windscreen ...aargh

I woke up this morning to go and take the Jeep for a spin.
Jumped in and out of no where there is suddenly a 6-8inch crack which grew over night.

I took a look outside and there is the smallest nick on the bottom of the Windscreen in the black area.

I certainly don't remember any stones hitting the windscreen.
    1900k's ... nice.

I suppose I will have to phone the stealers and get some pricing on a 2012 windscreen.
Has anyone ever tried those windscreen protectors ? Very thin clear coat cover that supposedly will help prevent this.

    call your insurer...

mine went on my CRD when a stone was flung up from a truck - not a biggy!!!

infrequent occurance, I wouldn't bother putting a protective film on...

Welcome to the world of Wranglers. I'm on my 4th windscreen in mine.

Because the windscreen is so flat and upright it takes a real beating.

My last one got hit with something BIG!

On the M1 going past Marlboro, at like 8:30 in the morning, still half asleep on the way to Jeep to get new keys coded actually......BANG! And I got showered with glass on the inside! I very nearly needed to steam clean the drivers seat.

Had to get a local "Grandmark" screen as the dealers didnt have stock and my insurance wanted R800 to fit a shatterprufe or nothing to fit the Grandmark one....so what they hell.

I dont know if it's my imagination but it seems like I have more wind noise with this one...
