    Default Isuzu KB300LX Auto Gearbox

I Have an Isuzu KB300LX with Auto Gearbox.

My mileage is 178 000 km and I have just installed its third gearbox ?

Apparently this model has a history of problems with its gearbox or cooling system ?

I would like to hear from other people that have or is currently experiencing the same problem ?

Don't know many Suz owners running auto boxes. Try www.isuzuoffroad.co.za . There's a couple of hundred Isuzu owners there. Somebody should be able to help you....

My dad has an auto 300 LX diesel - no problems at all. Think the kilos is about 120 000 (under correction). Better fuel consumption than the manuals. He is very pleased with his Isuzu.

    Hi Johan,

Which model is it exactly, DMax / DTeq? I have the DTeq Auto and so far so good, wouldn't change it for the world!

I have heard, however, an issue here and there on the DMax Auto's, but no cooling issues so far on the DTeq ones as far as I know. On the D-Teq, there is an indicator if your GB is running too hot, and in all the years of playing in sand in the Kalahari, towing etc etc the indicator has not even come on yet.

I dont have the auto, but I know Gareth has had some problems with his autobox overheating! Nothing too dramatic, but the warning light comes on & he then stops for a little while to let it cool down.

As far as I know he hasnt had to replace gearbox's or anything!

    Hi Sniper

Its the Go Big model 2006 !

I've spoken to other people on isuzuoffroad and the people at Rex diff and gearbox and all of them confirm that they had lots of problems with that Model of auto boxes

I'll just have to bite the bullet and prey that this new cooling system and gearbox lasts !
