    Default Low vehicle clearance

    Hi All.
We just got back from Mozambique with our Ssangyong Actyon Sport 2Lt 4x4 Automatic. The vehicle handled itself wonderfully, but....with the ground clearance being so low we encountered a major problem.

The transmission oil pipe was slashed by the fanbelt which got damaged by the huge amount of sand blown into the enjin cavity due to the low ground clearance of the vehicle. This resulted in me, my hubby and our grandchildren climbing dunes by foot like never before, with parts not being available in Moz as well as in SA!!!! Luckily for us we met two great guys who helped us to "fix" the transmission oil pipe and our fanbelt got us back to SA with 3 strands left. LOL

While underneath the vehicle we noticed that the powerstearing pipes etc are all located quite low and will easily be damaged in rough terrain.

The vehicle is really great otherwise, great fuel consumption and power as well as being very comfortable, but...we need to tend to a few things here I guess. 1. Protection for these " important sensitive parts" and most of all, greater ground clearance. As soon as you have to deflate the tyres it decreases an allready low clearance even more!

    Any suggestions please?

The vehicle is used daily by hubby to work and back.
