    Plesier Pieter

My yskas het 'n paar jaar laas 220V gesien.

All the fridges work on some DC current (12V to 24V). When they are plugged into 220V, it is converted to 12V DC by the very clever electronics in any case before being pushed into the motor/compressor.

What he ^^^^ said. Snomaster shows the voltage, plugged into 220v, it shows 22v, plugged into 12v, it shows anything from 11v to 13.4v, and at 10.5v it starts beeping incessantly, usually at 2am on a cold night.

... warning you that your baterry's voltage is low and at some stage it should cut out, protecting the battery.

This can be reset, which I would suggest, but to a higher cut out limit, it's not good for a battery to be drained to such a low voltage, it's lifetime is shortened significantly every time this happens.
