    Default Inanda Outing Sept 07

2 of us turned into 8 of us THAT's more like it.

No trail, no knowledge, just a starting point, the need, a GPS, and a track that only get's ridden by scramblers.

I was pleasently surprised by the turn-out. Looks like there's a real need for more outings here in KZN. We even had a Jeep that's never been off tar, and neither had the driver. You did great....not saying that just because it was your first time out.

We climbed some rocks, but these were all managable. Wayne...we might have made more marks in the bottom of your Suzuki. A couple of very nice river crossings and one muddy section of about 100m long. Here many of us found out that picking the right line is crucial.

Unfortunately, but not unexpected, we ran out of track about 8km in, found a picnic spot and Bob built a braai fire while I scouted ahead, but to no avail. This was turn around point. Which wasn't all bad, it just meant we had to again go through that same lekker spot.

I thoroughly enjoyed it guys. Thanks for a great day out. I'm sure we'll again meet where the road ends.

I'll post some pics once I've got them resized.

    That trail looks AWESOME

Im going to be in KZN for a week (mon - Sun) and want to do a trail. This one looks good. Is it safe to do alone? Anyone available during the week

Or a short trail on Sat, need to be back in Pinetown for a braai with family...

    Any takers?

Not to be done alone. Several areas where self recovery is not a deffinate, also no cell reception to call for help. And there are locals...... Much safer in a group of 3 or more

When are you going to be down here. I'll go introduce you to Shongweni. Can be done in <3 hours if you must.

    Hi Sakkie

Regards the safety, I thought as much Anyways, I'll be arriving in Balito on Monday and departing back to our concrete jungle on Sunday. Free basically anytime except for Wednesday (work at Cato Ridge and Dalton) and Thursday I'll be in Richards Bay, also for work and off course to play in the quarry
