    Default Phobia:whats yours

Anemophobia:the intense fear of the wind.Altough in my case its more like a panic attack
As a child growing up in Berlin eastern cape I remember when i was sitting in the classroom and a wind started blowing down tress onto cars.I think thats where my phobia started.
At one stage it was so bad that if it was slightly breezie in the morning i would cancel my golf for that day.
Strange however when I am away from home like in P.E and the wind pumps it is not that big a deal and usually when i get home to Bloem i am semi cured for a while from any wind.
Anyone else with a intense phobia?

I only fear the wind if it is a really smelly one.

Believe me,there is nothing worse than having an intense Phobia for something when your rational mind says you shouldnt.I have considered hypnotherapy already.

I have a colleague at work who suffers from Triskaidekaphobia. We did make fun of him when he started here but we quickly realized how serious this matter was for him. I will never mock anybody with a phobia again.

I am deathly terrified of spiders. Go cold, can't move, heart races, the works. Does not matter if it's a daddy long legs or a roman, nor does size, the tiny ones that sometimes pop out of the drain when I brush my teeth are as bad as a rain spider above my bed..

I had a phobia for spiders. Moved to a farm so quickly had to confront my fear as Shalene wont have me ignore a huge rain spider looking at her.

I made a mental choice to follow my logical mind and started confronting them. I am now much better but not at the stage where i will handle them bare handedly.

I have 2 bird eating spiders at home, +- the size of a plate..
My wife had a Phobia for them, but she has now adopted them and feeding them fatter than ever, not sure how I will move them to a new tank yet

sometimes the best way to get over it, is to deal with it ??

    I suffer(ed) from Acrophobia...
Couldn't go up to the 1st floor of a building at a time.
Not as bad these days. Will even hang over a ledge to take a nice photo.

I also do not like confined spaces and crowded places... Mostly because I got lost in a crowd when I was very young...

Had a lot of stuff blow up on me... But the one time I had to work on an old pc.
    Plugged it out, everything.
Opened it up and saw some button was loose.
Ok, let me feel where this thing should go...

The thing with phobias are that people who do not have any, can just never understand what you go through when confronted with your phobia. I have a fear for water. Can't even swim!!

Not really on the scale of phobia because I've learnt to deal with my fears but I really don't like being in lifts (elevators). Years ago I was in an elevator that dropped 21 floors, then shot back up again and dropped a second time.
