Why do you want an oil with a viscosity that iws approaching hydraulic oil Look in your

BP had something that is called TRACTRAN you use that in tractor transmissions that share The same oil as the hydraulics

I would suggest you look in your manual under specs and see that this oil is for cold climates a 20W50 or the like is to be used in South Africa

    Why not use a 5W30 or better, a 15W40.

Problem with a 5W30 is it will be a synthetic, your application might not like that.

    What about a straight SAE30

Try Land Rover - 5w30 is what I need for my l322 and the only place I have found it is at the dealer. I think 10w40 is what they use in the discos. Maybe they will have what you need. Synthetic only though.

before you switch oil to find an easy to find alternative, check the manufacture, if the manufacture specifies a certain oil like 10W30 then the agents should stock it as not doing so could void the warrenty.
in the states cheverolet uses 10w30 or maybe even 5w30 in it's pickups, while under warrenty you have to use that oil grade or it will void the warrenty.
so i say checkdealer and see what they use and require, if vehicle is under warrenty.
