    Default Scangauge11 Digital diagnostics?

I understand the scangauge2 can be used on the terracan. A few questions:
1: Where is best place to purchase this unit. What is the process to pay duties?
2: Is there a better unit available in the market?
    3. Is this unit a value add item or just a gimmick? I like the temperature element plus volts and consumption - My GPS can give me other stats. I also like the fuel status capability.

    Hi Mike,

    I'm looking at this myself.

    1. I see you can get it from
    http://www.wantitall.co.za/ScanGauge...s__B000AAMY86\ or
    http://www.have2have.co.za/product/ScanGauge-II-3-in-1-Compact-Multifunction-Vehicle-Computer-with-/94432/.

    2. Haven't really checked if there's anything better, but just from reading some forums, especially the Aussie ones, it seems like a good buy.

    3. I personally think it's a value-add, as it can also give OBD codes, if i'm not mistaken? Plus, it would be nice to be fore-warned of problems before they happen!

I have one of these, ordered it directly from scangauge europe.

    http://www.scangauge.net/

I paid via Paypal R 1400 and R140 at the Post Office for duties.

    They ship it for free.

I have already found a problem on my bakkie via the digital temp gauge, had a faulty open thermostat. Mine is now mounted permanently close to the other gauges.

One thing I can tell you, factory temp gauge is very slow to respond or to even move. Mine sits on halfway when on apparent running temp, looking at the scangauge it is only 60 degrees, real running temp is 82 degrees.
The factory temp gauge does not show a fluctuation between 60 and 82, just sits in the middle...

And it reads DTC error codes as well, very nice all round little tool.

I am very very happy I bought mine

    Default Thanks

Thank You Bosmens and JvrS for you inputs. I checked all the sites and I will probably go via the UK site.
By the way Bosmens who did you suspension system, was it done in Nelspruit. Big question - Are you happy with it?

    Hi Mike,

I bought mine like that (fortunately!). But I'm very happy with it: perfect on- and offroad, not too bouncy, not too soft either. Body roll not at all bad, I expected it to be worse. Makes a helluva difference when you're towing something heavy. Plus, the extra lift gives it some "road presence": the "standard" Cans look like Subaru's, IMHO.

Are you thinking of upgrading your suspension? I see you're also in Nelspruit: fancy a test drive?
