As said previously was done by the previous owner and just zips onto front of bushwing. This one actually has its own side panels to close it completely. But don't think I will ever use them.

Hello guys, those carrying mountain bikes, please share how you carry them with the BL in tow.

    Thank you.

    Two 25kg eMB's.
One on the nosebox and one a Thule carrier on the BL towbar at the back. Done 10kkm's on all manner of roads....no problems

Any specific reason for only mounting one in front?

I had my bike on the back of the Miskruier this weekend and almost lost it due to some rough tracks.

I only have one bike to mount but there is limited space. I don't think you could fit 2 unless you mount a bike rack on the nose cone

I'm a bit nervous about too much weight on the towbar given the statutory limit of 100kg.
Two bikes on the front will add at least 30kg.
Similarly too much weight on the back is also problematic.....I tried the two bikes on the back and experienced a fair amount of horizontal sway especially if the watertank is full.
Hence I settled on one front and one at the back, everything is very stable and the xtra weight on the towbar is reduced by the counterweight at the back.
Yes....it is a bit of a schlep to have to take the Thule rack off the back when you stop for a one night stand.....but it only takes a minute and is really not a problem.

We are a family of 4, at the moment I need to cart along 3 bikes, so was thinking two on the nose box, same as 4x4Superman or a Thule "slat" mount for the two larger ones, and my son's can go inside the Miskruier...

I was considering this, my vehicle is high, and I'm short... plus the RTT is in the way and I find it a schlep to remove & install constantly. I'm also concerned about low trees.

I use the holdfast 4 berth bike rack with base plate.

It can easily fit 2 bikes when towing a BL (I have done 3 but one was a kids bike)

Would this not be more secure behind the BL than a tow ball mounted unit, my BL has a tow ball extension. How does it affect sharp turns when fitted between the tow vehicle and the BL?

How did you guys secure your fridges to the fridge drawer? I got the NL 90 which fits nicely on the drawer and have slots through both handles. My question is where did you secure the tie-down to the drawer? I was thinking of riveting iron rings to the four corners of the drawer - just on the outside.

The fridge do seem to move around a bit.

    Any help will be welcome.

    Thanks

I use it also when not towing anything thus the base plate is mounted on the tow vehicle.
It definitely will affect sharp cornering, but not in normal driving and turning, only when positioning the BL at campsites. Normal 90’ turns ect are fine. Have been using this since my Xplorer days , about 6 years, and have not had a problem thus far.

Mine and most other I have seen is not secured to anything. It fits so snug.
If you want to mount some ring I would suggest using bolts instead of pop rivets.
