I have experienced the same and as mentioned above blocks work to stop the rolling of the wheels
However, I use my stabilizer in conjunction with the jockey wheel - the jack takes a lot of weight of the wheel and thus amounts to the same end goal of saving the jockey wheel

Works well for me and provides stability for the from when kids are on the bed

Here enters the benefit of the Al-ko jacks. In this pic the jockey is simply touching the ground, but has no pressure on.

The BL stabilizer on the A-frame - the intent is not to replace the jockey, but simply to add support in conjunction with the jockey wheel. The stabilizer alone will create a pivot point.

Daar is 2 grootte jacks beskilbaar. Vir die Goggas, kry die korter een sodat hy vertikaal kan opvou langs die chassis.

Busy installing a Victron BMV-712 battery monitor in my Miskruier B810. Looking at a few options of where to install (fasten) the shunt that needs to connect between the battery negative and the load an charger negatives. With everything else close by and already in the battery box I m think of somewhere under the side bed close to current battery installation. Where is the shunt on the newer models or any other similar mod done? Suggestions?

Right so the shunt of the Victron BMV-712 is fitted and connected. Rivotted it on the lip of the lid below the side bed next to the batteries. Sorted the app and now playing with solar etc details and history. Fantastic product. Ill get a 52mm steel hole saw and fit the monitor to the DB board, replacing the Hella plug this week sonewhere.

Very nice, although, to avoid the stress and work just replace your batteries with a BT lithium. 1) You can track the SOC on your cellphone 2) Your BL will be around 30 kg lighter and 3) you free up space in the load bin

I am wanting to fit reflective fly sheets to my Baobab 4.
BL Paarl quoted me around R6k for reflective front and side sheets, which seems a bit expensive?
Are ther any other options? What about a reflective paint one can put on yourself?
Would be interested to hear anyone's experience - thanks.

I am in same boat, did not know thats the price

I think I am going to see my local canvas company, they have made some impressive things in the past.

A while back I was there and they had just replaced ALL the canvas on an older Bushlapa on the entire wing.

My plan is to retain the front bed normal cover and make something the same shape, but instead of being permanently attached against the Baobab above the bed, just 3 hooks. The rest of the eyelets will hook into the rods as normal. Will only be used when its really hot.

I did this exact same thing to my Miskruier a while back when the reflective rain fly was aluminium covered. It was a bit of a schlep to hook and unhook. I found that I always wanted to use it, and meanwhile the regular rain fly underneath still had to be setup so that everything fit right. In the end, I had the newer reflective canvas rain fly fitted during servicing at Gauteng a few years back. If I had to do it again, I’d use @SneakyPete and his shop to do all reflective canvas, including bushwing. The reflective canvas makes a massive difference in the heat, and doesn’t really change things in the cool.
