Nope i dont store anything else in the compartment, only the 2 X gas cylinders are in there.
Grumbles, i have noticed before that there are damp and moist in the compartment, but recently it became more and even the cylinders have some rust on it. The regulators is also packed with white powder (beginning phase of rust maybe). I also close the cylinders after a camp trip, but never unscrew the regulators. You think this might have something to do with it? Maybe a leak valve on the bottle that creates the moist?
Stefan I don't know, but I also open my gas stove after disconnecting like Hilux01 said. I don't think this is your issue.

It is really strange. Have you taken out the bottles and a good look inside the box to possibly see a crack somewhere on the "roof" of the box? Only other place that moisture could possibly get in somehow would be the door seal (unlikely) and the two grommets where the gas pipes come through the back of the box.

    Hope you find the cause.

Hi Grumbles and Musashi. Thanx again for the reply.
I did check the lids and also the opening where the hoses comes into the compartment. No leaking or nothing. Also, the last 2 camps we had, there was no rain. I really dont know where the corrosion, damp and moist can come from. The only thing i can think about is a leaking cylinder maybe? Dont have a clue. Will take the bottles out the wekeend and send them in to check and service. Will also check the hoses and regulators, and clean and dry inside. Will then keep an eye on it.

Had a problem to maneuver my Boskriek under the carport due to a steep incline, so I decided to fit a removable winch. It makes pulling it into position a breeze and I can park it single-handed. The winch was purchased from Adendorff.

We went to Buffelsbaai for 3 weeks in December. did a big wash and clean the day after we came back and noticed some rust and corrosion. This was the first time the Baobab went to the coast. Was not used last year with the pandemic. Parking at home is under a well enclosed carport.
Is this normal when camping at the coast.

    Hi Hugo

I live on the KZN North Coast and we give our outside parts that will rust a coating of Q20. Easy to apply and leaves a clear oily coating. It's a bit late now but in future perhaps give the exposed metal parts a coating before going to the coast.

Evening all, I'd like some input and sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. I have searched and can't find any discussion.
When we use the gas cooker, the heat radiates down and heats up the drawer below. Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm thinking of some kind of insulating material to put under the gas cooker but don't know what.
    Regards, Matt

Morning. Not a modification but a problem and probably not the correct thread to ask info about but I hope somebody can give me some advice.
I have a bosluis 2 mounted permanently on a modified LC 105. My problem is that the 2 batteries in the vehicle which were new had to be replaced after a year. I did not start the vehicle for 2 months over Christmas I admit but both batteries had no charge. They were so drained that they would not hold a charge and needed replacement .

Here is my question. If I left the bosluis with 220 current on over this period would it not have also kept the vehicle batteries charged.

Not being good with electronics I need to get to grips with this. I have asked a bush lapa agent for a wiring diagram. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced similar issues. If so what did they do.

No. Not if there is no connection between the Bosluis and vehicle. Does the bosluis have its own battery/batteries?

Yes it has its own batteries plus solar power.

I would use a separate charger for the vehicle batteries. Keep the vehicle and bosluis batteries separate.

I noticed this as well but I did not think it is a big issue.I do put tinfoil shiny side up under the gas cooker to make it easier for cleaning. This does help.

    Greetings all

This is how I installed my filter system in my Ratel.
I installed a new hose from the front to the back cold water tap,the entire water system goes through the filter.

The filters are also easy to take out and service outside and if anything goes wrong the inlet and the outlet gets connected and the filters are bypassed.

Lekker kamp die naweek manne, dit is nou as ons nie gehok word nie.

    Dankie Hilux

Hi. BL is going in for a sercvice not at BL office in paarl but an agent in windhoek. What is stuff they must look at other than brakes coupler and wheel bearings?

My wing i saw tear loose at the back just above the back door when open completely which is a concern as we havent camped in strong winds at all. My tap where u let water out of your tank broke off between our camp spot and home yesterday.

The fridge also have an issue somtimes takes hours and hours to get to the set temp and the fridge have lots of id faults light flashing so ill have that checked as well.

Check the mounting bolts for the leaf springs. Mine failed twice. Later BL models might have had bigger bolts fitted.

Jip. Die charger laai die battery tot op 100% en hou dit daar. Dit is natuurlik as die charger nie by die DB afgesit is nie.
