I made a cassette unit that fits into the back and that is covered with a compartment with a door. This created a double sealing are and there will not be dust or water getting in.

The cassette has a main drawer that pulls out and then the two sides pull out. First time I'm using "push to open" slides and they work great. Don't need latches, the drawer stays in place.

Inside the top cover I have space to store all out dishwashing soap, sponges and cloths.

I had to lift the basin and reroute the pipes, but its almost at a better height now than before.
    All stainless steel.

    I'm glad its over now

I must tell everyone that your workmanship is of top Quality. The draws you did for me, are fantastic. Thanks once again.

I will be fitting them this week end. Can't wait for the next project that you are embarking on.

Has anyone got a mod / idea on how to stop the spring rods on the pop our beds from popping out?

We went camping this past week at the coast and had some very strong winds. The awning would vibrate and "lift up", and the spring polls would eventually pop out of the eyelet on the awning

I had same issue with one recently. I have decided to use bungee cord of correct length instead when this issue happens. I did bend the tip a bit which did help.

How about cable ties to keep the eyelet in the rod?

As an emergency hack I used guy ropes looped around the pole stickout with pegs in the ground. It worked ok but isn't an elegant solution.

Bungees sound better and I think bending the tip would be the best option

Any ideas/suggestions to keep the stupid little awning poles above the horizontal poles in position in windy conditions?

mine fit tightly so no issue. If you use the guy ropes straight down by each pole this also prevents a potential problem.

My ropes are strait down, awning is tight and the small poles are fitting snig, i sometimes struggle to push them back. Still when wind starts pushing and pulling they pop out.Click image for larger version.

Why don't you put a horizontal pole from one small pole to the other.
I will try and find a pic I saw

Replace the rubber 'feet'. I see our new wing short poles has large feet made from quite a soft rubber compound. They grip the PVC patch better. The previous wing had the same as yours and one specific on always collapsed.

    Velcro:
Glue a square piece to the awning "roof".
Cable Tie a larger piece to the plastic end to fit like a "glove".

This works a charm...we recently purchased Miskruier No44 where BL were still experimenting with certain things...

    1. The upright poles had plastic end caps which males sliding the uprights into place very easy...and them collapsing in a slight wimd just as easy...replaced the end caps with rubber caps (such as the ones on a walking stick) and they grip so well now...

    2. The down poles of the awning were loose poles, purchased the hinges from BL in a full kit @ +-R650 and fitted them myself now making the whole awning setup a lot more sturdy...no more downpoles randomly falling out when tensioning the awning or wind blowing...guide ropes must be straight down too and not at an angle like tradisional tent ropes...

    Just my 2c worth...

    God bless

I also bought rubber feet for office chairs at the local hardware.Rubber is fairly soft and grips nicely on the awning.
Make sure its the rubber ones and not the plastic feet.

We also had some concerns in really bad conditions
However, my issue was rather with the other "short uprights" not having PVC patches on the awning and the pinch marks/ "indentations" that the poles left on the direct canvas

I thus cut some tennis balls in half and use them specifically on these areas - works like a charm - I think firstly because it stretches the wing that little more, has a larger and "rougher" bearing surface (the tennis ball) and it takes no added time as they go on when ever I put the uprights in - right out of the bag

Swambo even suggested I glue the cut tennis balls on the poles, but that might not be a long term in bag solution...

Camping this weekend will post a pic then

Our wing is quite old and lost its original shape; also got tired of puddles forming in the rain, so I bought some polycop water pipe and re-shaped it to proper dome again. Have not looked back yet.

    Hi
