Haha my Disco is vandag eers in vir 'n valet.

During this week's two week trip to Bots/Zim, the batteries were never below 100%. However, the 200w foldable panel is heavy and awkward to handle. I store it on the Boskriek's single bed, mattress removed.
We have the same panel and take it everywhere, though I agree it is bulky. The van is at Bushlapa Gauteng North having the mods done so that this can be connected via the A frame.

    Thanks

Mini valet is R120 en hulle maak hom so skoon, my D4 lyk amper soos 'n D5

My HP cleaner het 2 nozzles.

I was wondering if anyone has fitted a recovery point to a Miskruier (or any BL)? This is just to give the van a gentle pull if required perhaps from the back in a sticky situation.

Could not find any photo of something like that.

I suppose one could use shackles on the 2 x stabilizer points to split the force. They would be ok for a gentle pull.

I fitted 2 recovery points that attaches to the under carraige with 2 x M12 bolts each. Jannie made the recovery points on request, he used 6mm stainless steel. That was 3 - 4 years ago. Luckily never had to use it though. I posted pics of it somewhere on either this or the review threads, but cannot find it now (I'm not really forum tech savvy). The pics was on an old phone unfortunately.

I thought of this but my reasoning was that those things was designed for stationary use of the van, not tugging. Also, attaching a pull strap to them would probably require some modification. I then decided to rather have Jannie make me properly designed recovery points.

Just returned from a camping trip in the Kgalakgadi where I saw a guy using thin Perspex type solarpanels made by a company SETSOLAR. Has anyone here used these panels? They are totally flat and not bulky at all. Apparently popular on yachts. Keen to buy one of these as they will easily slide inbetween the matresses.

Sjoe nearly thought you referred to us as we were in the KTP recently as well but then realized we did not take the panels

We have 3 of those panels. They certainly keep the batteries full and is very light and easy to pack. Hubby says ours is from Solarflex, 'semi rigid' panels.

    Hi Jaco,
I am also looking at installing similar recovery points on our BL. Can you remember if you used washers or maybe a flatbar on the inside of the frame; to strengthen the attachment point?

    Regards and thanks,
    Joe

    Hello Heinz
Look at 4x4 Direct on their website.I see they had them in the shop. They called Semi Flexible solar panels. They have the 60w and 120w.I put them on my bakkie canopy.
They are a bit more expensive but much easier to handle.
