Just some feedback.
Paid P140-00 per vehicle at the border for a return (multiple entry, 8 pax no trailer) and NO, ZAR's were not accepted at Martins Drift.
a Bit of a scramble at 06h00 in the morning to find Pula as the Forex offices were still closed. In the end, exchanged with other travelers.
All in all, no further issues on the road at all. Was never stopped or searched heading north but was stopped and searched on the way back south at a vet gate close to Mogapi returning from Selebi Phikwe. We were empty and the stop and search done very quickly and friendly.

Are you talking about the Amusement Park just outside Gaborone.... the very popular recreation for day visitors from the Capital City?

More Maats.
Ons gaan die 22ste Desember kamp by Deception Valley. Wil weet wat is die ure wat Stockpoort oop sal wees?
Groete
We are crossing the border now in March at Skilpadshek.
What is the current cost for road tax etc for a single entry.
We are towing a caravan too
Thanks
Not sure but can someone please inform how much fuel you are allowed to take into Botswana from SA. I know fuel is cheaper there and sometimes they have issues if you take too much out, but what are the rules for taking fuel in?

To book Kgalagadi (Botswana side), you have to book at the DWNP Parks office in Gaborone. Email [email protected] +267 3180774
Thank you! This is wonderful info.
Hi I have tried searching and reading through the extensive information, however I am really looking for information about crossing the border at Pontdrift from SA to Bots. I cannot find info on how to get money/nearest ATM. We want to stay at Molema maybe two nights, and will need money, hopefully they will accept rand or euro or USD,does anyone know?
Also hoping I am right that we can buy food at Messina and take it across to Bots at Pontdrift. Thanks in advance, and apologies if I am in the wrong place.
Note that it is highly likely that you will not be able to cross with a vehicle at Pontdrift due to the water level. Last we visted there, there was acablecart system accros the river. People would park their cars on the SA side and then use the cablecart to cross.
Thanks JacoBrits. hopefully the water level will be down in September when we are there, any ideas about ATM's near Pontdrift.
We crossed at Pontdrift at the beginning of May. The Limpopo is so dry even sedans were driving through. Unless we get early rains in the Limpopo catchment area in spring you will be able to motor through. Alternative is Platjan further upstream where there is a concrete weir.
No ATM's at Pontdrift. Nearest will be Musina or Alldays. Pontdrift is essentially a border post serving Northern Tuli Game Reserve. It only has a very small Spaza shop. Both RSA and Bots border posts accept Rands.
thanks for that, do you know the location of then nearest atm on the bots side as we are going that way, sorry to hear about the lack of water.
Can you buy wood & charcoal at the Mabua gate or should you rather get some in Tshabong already ?

Intrepid Aussies, not sure in which direction you are heading after Molema, but there may be an ATM at Bobonong, definately one at Selebe Pikwe, but that is quite a trek from Molema which is between Pontdrift & Platjan. On the Tuli Wilderness website (www.tulitrails.com), the Molema rates are quoted in Rands & BWP, so Rands should be okay.
Apologies if not the correct thread - but might be pertinent to OP.
We've just been told that police clearance is now a requirement at border crossings for Botswana - is there any clarification on this?
