Mens gaan hulle anyway nodig he een of ander tyd.
You have made me very depressed. I sold my Colt last week, and have started to look for my new 120. Im depressed because im sitting in the office surfing for one instead of being on the road enjoy it. It was by accident that i got to drive one a while ago and have been obsessed with find one! Was thinking i should start a rumor about how terrible they are, in the hope some silly person would believe it and let theirs go for a steal.
Im looking for a 2004-2005 model if anyone knows of one hidden away in a garage somewhere!![]()
Richyv, best thing you can do now is check everyday. On all websites that advertise cars. Good deals dont come often. I missed 3 good deals in 2 weeks. They come and go, also dont be suprised to pay R20k - R30k more than retail. Take your time, its worth it!!! And it is as good as people say it is. Trust me!
Good luck.
Managed to get my hands on one this morning. 2005 Model, 236 on the clock. Well looked after and nothing to spend. And best of all 4k under trade, never mind retail. Helps having people in the motor trade. Hoping to get it on friday. Really cant wait to drive it but dreading the first R 2000 fill up.
Guys,
The current Prado VX comes with a CRAWL system but not with the Down Hill Assist Control...
Do they work the same ? I am particularly interested in the scenario of going down a steep Sand Hill.
Also, if I were to use the CRAWL in a steep down hill of sand, could I accelerate (past the 5 km/hr) in order to correct the nose direction and avoid a side flip ?
Tks !
JEG, this thread is for the 120 prado which is the previous shape and not the "current" one. I dont know how the crawl system works but the DAC can engage and disengade while moving.
Richyv, pics or it didnt happen!![]()

Hello all,
Here in Peru they sell the Prado VX with Crawl control but not with Down Hill Assist Control.
If I were to go down a steep sand hill, will the Crawl control act work the same as the DAC ?
Once engaged could I accelerate past the 5 km/hr as to be able to crrect the nose in case it goes to one side ?
Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers
OK tks
Will look elswhere
Tks !
JEG - do a quick search on this forum
If you dont find your answer, start a new thread with your question on the 150 prado.

VeelsgelukJy gan dai Prado sommer baie geniet.
Well done and enjoy. Dont worry too much about the petrol. Just enjoy the ride![]()
Took the Prado to the Kruger for a week.
What a pleasure to drive. There were a couple of roads which were in a bad condition due to all rain thats been pouring down so much and had no problem at all. Also the fuel consumption went down to 10.2L/100km Got about 1500km out of the two tanks and there were still more than 10L left in the tank when I filled up.
But once again, what a great vehicle. Just can't find anything wrong with it. Still deciding on Mods. It's a great car as is but have that feeling of buying something for it but just dont know what...

Sahara Bar? looking good
4x4s
I was a passenger in a colleague's Prado V6 recently on a 1000 km trip. Fell in love with the car. I am now in the market for a 4x4 (finally after settling for 4x2 for the past few years). The Prado is an option. Unfortunately for me fuel consumption is a bit of an issue which is why I would prefer diesel but the KZTE engine sounds like it was no good. How does the 120 Prado V6 and the V6 (VVti) in the Fortuner compare in terms of fuel consumption? Like for like driving off course.
Thanks
