Cool Re: Companion - Tips, tricks and mods

Getting my Companion back today after fitting the drawers on the front left side( looking from the draw bar). These replace the wolf packs. Just the two of us and the 2B has so much packing space we decided to opt for the drawers, as SWAMBO goes mad every time she has to take of the lids and put the wolf pack on the ground to get something out of it.

Happy wife happy camping so trust it will give her a smile.

I will post some pics tomorrow.

    Hi Bruce,

Pricey at just over R5K, but as I said, a happy camping is important to me as we do it regularly and when SWABO gives me that look after being in the wolf packs I this is money well sent. Each drawer is 2 lt smaller than the wolf pack and has the same locking pin as the kitchen unit.

Thank you. I have been quoted R6600 fitted or R5600 supplied. It definitely looks better than the wolf packs so I think i will be going ahead.

    Hi Bruce,

We worth it. SWAMBO is very happy that she does not have to take lids off anymore.

    Great Idea,

I gave up on the high lift jack as I had one on my x4 for nine years and not luck of not using it once. Gone back to the bottle jack . Safer and smaller.

    Agreed.

Out of interest where would you jack up the Companion using a hi-lift jack?

The Companion has standard high lift jack points.

You will need the high lift jack adaptor . Points are on , if looking from the drawbar on the outer side of the main body, as well as just one the rear side of the wheel arches.

So I got the 90L NL today. How on earth do you get the 12V or 220V to it once it is in the drawer?!! There is no space for the plugs!

    Is there a mod needed.

    Please help.
